Press Conference Brief: Zuma International Film Festival 2024

The Zuma International Film Festival (ZIFF) 2024 Press Conference, held on October 8th at the beautiful Istanbul Restaurant and Vento Furniture Space, it officially unveiled plans for this year’s festival, set for December 1st to 5th, 2024.

 

The event was attended by the Honourable Minister of Art, Culture, and the Creative Economy, Barr. Hannatu Musa Musawa, who formally announced the upcoming edition of ZUFF 2024. She invited film industry practitioners, stakeholders, film lovers and the public to be part of the festival as it promises to be a landmark event, showcasing Nigerian and African cinema. She emphasized that Zuma is one of the platforms through which Nigeria will take its place as the creative and cultural capital of the world.

Minister of State for the FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmood, spoke of the FCT’s readiness to host and ensure a world-class experience for attendees while Minister of Tourism, Lola Ade John, highlighted the synergy between tourism and film.

A number of heads of key cultural institutions, film industry practitioners, international representatives from embassies, corporate partners and the press were also in attendance, signaling widespread support from both local and international stakeholders.

The NFC’s Managing Director, Dr. Ali Nuhu, announced Stephanie Okereke Linus as Chairperson of the Jury and revealed an impressive 3,120 film entries from around the globe.

This year’s festival will be a convergence of some of the global film industry’s best, offering an exciting, enriching, and unforgettable experience with a diverse program lineup and the Vice President of Nigeria, His Excellency Kashim Shettima, delivering the Annual Lecture.
